New Artwork

I am so excited about my new artwork and wanted to tell you all about it. A sweet friend in our Faith Family is starting a business called Fencerow Designs and makes awesome custom signs for your house. She's just getting started but is a very talented artist and is willing to try new and original designs. The one below is a one-of-a-kind Tara Bleeker original! We LOVE it!! And as you can see, my husband did have some input into the word choices:)

I also wanted to share my newest "artwork" for Abby's room. This is a name banner that I made from scrapbooking paper - thanks to Deb Pitcher and Etsy for the idea! I was really excited and thought it turned out pretty cute on the first try!

I also made these frames to match her new bedspread and thought they turned out pretty cute, too! The coral color in her new comforter was hard to match for decorations so I decided to make my own!

God's Word in My Life

Psalm 13:1-2; 5-6
1 How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? 2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? 5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. 6 I will sing the LORD’s praise,for he has been good to me.

David shows me that no matter what circumstances we are going through, we can still praise God and rejoice in our salvation. One of my favorite songs from a long time ago says, "It's a great day. Even if things aren't going my way. Jesus is Lord and I am saved, so....it's a great day!"

"The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful." Matthew 13:22

Lord - help us not to be seed that fell among thorns...

"(God) has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil - this is God's gift to man. I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear (revere) Him." Ecclesiastes 3:11-14.

Only in God does life have meaning and true pleasure. Without Him nothing satisfies, but with him we find satisfaction and enjoyment despite our circumstances. True pleasure come only when we acknowledge and revere God.

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16). Lord, thank you for your presence in our lives. Reframe my mind to focus on you no matter what my day brings. You are worthy to be praised in every moment. Amen.

The Parable of the Persistent Widow -- Luke 18:1-8

If an unworthy judge who feels no constraint of right or wrong is compelled by persistence to deal justly with a helpless individual, how much more will God answer prayer!

"He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8

Part way through this chapter, Micah asks what he should bring before God - burnt offerings, thousands of rams, or ten thousand rivers of oil? In 6:8, God tells us that acting justly, loving mercy and walking humbly are much more important than any sacrifice we could offer.

"When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet." Psalm 31:21. In "The True Woman" by Susan Hunt she said that in scripture, clothed is often used in reference to our salvation and scarlet is often associated with blood. So maybe the Proverbs 31 woman has no fear for her family because they have been "cleansed and clothed by the blood of the Savior." Definitely something to pray for daily!!

"Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me." Psalm 51:12

--Sometimes I forget how awesome it is that God has given me the free gift of salvation even though I have done nothing to deserve it. My prayer (like the one in this Psalm) is that God would remind me of how awesome His love and grace are and that I would not take it for granted.
